Will my cabin be on the riverfront? Yes, you will look out your picture window on the beautiul Kenai River. The log cabins are connected by a boardwalk which leads to the dock and bank fishing area. How do we get to Alaska Fishing Lodges? We are 150 road miles South of Anchorage near the town of Soldotna (a beautiful 3 hour drive). Most guests fly into Anchorage and rent a car which you will need during your stay. You can also fly into Kenai, which is just a ten mile drive from the Lodge, and rent your car there. Do you provide meal service? We do not. The cabins are all equipped with full baths and kitchens, we provide outdoor BBQ's, or we're just a mile from town where all services are available including groceries and a wide variety of restaurants. What do I need to bring? Bring camera, rain gear, personal items and warm clothing. We provide all fishing equipment and hip boots when you need them. You can purchase your fishing license at the Lodge. How can we get our fish home? Your guide will fillet your fish for you. We will direct you to a processor who will vacuum pack and freeze your fish and have it boxed and ready for you to take home. The cost is approx. $1 per pound for frozen. Other services such as smoking or canning are available for an additional charge. When is the best time to come? We can provide a wonderful Alaskan experience for your group anytime May through September. The brochure contains a guide for salmon and trout fishing. Bear viewing is best in August and September. Whale and marine mammal watching, Halibut fishing, flightseeing and river rafting are good all season. The shoulder seasons (May through June 15 and Aug. 15 through Sept.) provide very good fishing and sightseeing while avoiding the crowds of midsummer. For other questions please call (907)262-5649. Hope to see you around the campfire! |
